Bastrop County Amateur Radio Club
Scouts' Jamboree On The Air 2003
October 19, 2003

Local Club members helped Troop 533 leader John Sandoval, KD5YVG, to set up a station at the Bastrop Fairgrounds. Mike, KD5VHF, Rick, K5FNI, Kelly, KD5ZGM, and Tools, KD5TUP, came by to provide communications on high frequency ham bands, as well as communications through the club's UHF repeater by way of Echolink to various parts of the county. John Creamer, W5QXH, provided a tour of the club's nearby repeater and discussion of how it operates. The station was set up mid-morning and was taken down before sundown. The Scouts all got chances to talk with other Scouts and leaders in distant locations.

K5FNI & Scouts at HF station
Rick Herndon, K5FNI, and Scouts at the two HF stations set up under a dining camopy.
